The Beekeeper of Aleppo by Christy Lefteri

An amazing and deeply moving novel, that keeps you wondering and moves you through so many layers of emotions.
The novel is about Nuri, the beekeper from Aleppo, and his wife Afra, an artist who has lost her eye sight when she saw the unthinkable during the Syrian war. She cannot bare the thought of leaving, but, a little too late, Nuri sets his foot down and they behin their dangerous journey to Great Britain.
Lefteri has the gift of painting unspeakable pain in beautiful colors. She, a daughter of refugees herself, has worked in the refugee camps in Athens, and this novel is based on the life stories of the people she met there.
This novel broke my heart wide opem, and still I couldn't stop reading. Loved it so much.
