My dear friend Ther'ese gave me this book for Christmas and it was an absolutely delightful read!
Set in Ceylon in the early 1900's it tells the story of a young woman who comes travelling on a ship from England to live with her new husband. A man who is 15 years older, rich tea plantation owner with a complicated past.
It's a time of upheaval and change between the white British oppressors and the Native population.
A personal tragedy changes their lives forever. True page turner. Recommended read!
