The Wild Truth av Carina McCandless

Jon Krakauer's bestseller "Into the wild" about the young man who travelled alone into the Alaskan wilderness back in 1992, has captivated generations with its intense story. Chris McCandless burnee his money and left everyone dear behind to survive alone over 100 days in the Wild. A couple of simple mistakes cost him his life.

Chris McCandless became a hero to some and a selfish asshole who made his family suffer for no apparent reason to others. The book offered no explanation for his drastic actions.

Here are all the explanations you need. Written by Chris' younger sister Carine, this book reveals the true horror of their childhood and a truly psychopath couple of parents. Especially the father is a monster. The mother is also a victim of abuse, but her actions soon show that she is also far from innocent.

This book is difficult to read but leaves me with a much greater understanding of not only Chris McCandless, but also how little we really know about others. How important it is not to judge. And how beautifully strong the live between two siblings can be. It leaves my grateful for all that I have, all the truly good people in my life. I am lucky.
